SMMT News

All for 1 and 1 for all

26 September 2001 #SMMT News

No sooner had the doors closed on the 2001 European Automotive Trade Show, than organisers, SMMT, began work on the next event. All exhibitors, many non-exhibitors and hundreds of visitors were asked for an opinion on the show and gave their views on all aspects from ease of access to catering.

Many exhibitors and visitors found things to praise at this year’s Show but research shows that there is clearly a need for change in 2003, to keep pace with the fast moving industry it serves and represents. As the automotive aftermarket’s only specialist meeting place, the need to exploit each and every business opportunity is obvious – consequently 2003 will see a fresh approach and a new name – auto1

Focusing on business development, auto1 promises to be much more than a trade show. As the automotive business becomes ever more complex and competitive, auto1 will provide the answers to every business need.

Leading companies from every supplier sector will present 21st Century solutions to installers, retailers and repairers of every size and type. Retail shop, workshop or bodyshop, franchised dealer or independent, their management and staff will make up the audience for this vital industry event.

Based on a unique ‘arena’ format, visitors will be able to get the most from their attendance in the shortest possible time. Clearly sign-posted special interest areas will feature the latest technology, systems and equipment, with the accent on hands-on experience and demonstrations.

Expect further details during the next few months, as we approach auto1, with new and innovative developments, designed to make this the most memorable and useful business experience for the UK aftermarket.

The 2003 auto1 event is fully supported by the ADF, A1MS, FER, FSG, GEA, IMI, IMPACT, NFDA, NTDA, RMI, SMMT and TIC.

auto1 takes place at the NEC from the 27 to 30 April 2003 so put it in your diary now.
