BMW has launched a new waste management programme, providing a single point of contact to dispose of all materials. Automotive Waste Solutions (AWS) have been appointed to run the contract.
The improved service will extend to all BMW and MINI dealerships and will reduce workshop waste disposed of at landfill sites, to no more than five per cent. It is specifically designed to provide the dealer network with a single waste collection service.
Previously, a dealer would have to use various waste management suppliers to dispose of different materials. However, with the new service, AWS will collect all waste, therefore reducing resources and benefiting the environment.
BMW says that the new scheme ‘identifies the company as an example of best practice within the industry’.
