Prime minister visits the British International Motor Show

Rt Hon Gordon Brown, prime minister and Paul Everitt, SMMT chief executive, today looked at cars built in Britain during their visit to press day at this year’s Show. Mr Brown attended the Show to meet manufacturers and to view the Greener Driving Pavilion to see first hand what car and van makers are doing in response to tackling climate change. After a tour of the Show, the prime minister had a meeting with Rt Hon Ruth Kelly MP, Rt Hon John Hutton MP and vehicle manufacturers. The Show’s VIP preview day is tomorrow, 23 July and will close on Sunday 3 August.
