SMMT will hold a free on-line web seminar on 15 July 2009 to discuss some of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector in the current economic climate.
Production volumes have dropped dramatically over past months with the latest figures showing a 47% drop in May. These are challenging times for the economy, and the automotive industry continues to operate within difficult circumstances. In order to understand and address some of the key issues, SMMT will host a series of free on-line conferences over the coming months to highlight the key challenges and opportunities for the sector.
The first will focus on ‘Vehicle Production Outlook’, the impact this will have on the industry and its effect on the supply base. Paul Everitt will discuss the latest issues, and outline the strategic direction and emerging opportunities ahead. In addition, Ian Henry, director of AutoAnalysis, will share his insight into production volumes of the major OEMs and the potential impact this will have on suppliers.
