SMMT announces annual dinner speakers

SMMT is delighted to announce Armando Iannucci as its guest speaker at the 93rd Annual Dinner on Tuesday 24 November 2009.
 
Armando Iannucci is the creator of much of the most original TV comedy in recent years. He created the Alan Partridge character with Steve Coogan, and regularly appears on radio and TV programmes. He wrote and directed the award-winning The Thick Of It and more recently, scripted the critically-acclaimed spin-off In The Loop.
 
Joe Greenwell, SMMT president and chairman Ford of Britain, will also speak and host this prestigious industry event which will be attended by around 800 senior automotive industry executives and a variety of representatives from associated companies and organisations. 
 
‘The SMMT Annual Dinner provides a unique opportunity for all parts of the industry to come together to reflect on our current challenges and look forward to new opportunities,’ said SMMT chief executive Paul Everitt.  ‘We are delighted to announce Armando Iannucci as guest speaker and look forward to his observations on politics, the economy and the motor industry at the end of one of its most difficult years.’
