Spyker Cars relocates vehicle assembly to the UK

20 November 2009 #SMMT News #UK Manufacturing

Spyker Cars NV, manufacturer of exclusive premium sports cars, has announced that it will relocate vehicle assembly to its UK supplier, CPP (Manufacturing) Ltd.

By relocating assembly lines from Zeewolde in the Netherlands to Coventry, Spyker will achieve considerable improvements in efficiency and substantial cost reductions by moving closer to suppliers and engineering partners. The relocation is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Commenting on the news, Paul Everitt, SMMT chief executive said, “The UK has more specialist sports car manufacturers than any other European country and the skills and expertise to support further development. Investment in UK automotive facilities is good news for the industry and we welcome the news that Spyker has chosen to relocate its vehicle assembly to the UK.”
