Lotus creates 100 UK engineering and manufacturing jobs

UK-based sports car manufacturer and engineering expert, Lotus, has announced that it will create more than 100 jobs in engineering and manufacturing at its Hethel, Norfolk headquarters.

Lotus will recruit 45 specialist engineers and 18 graduates to help develop new products within its engineering division. A further 40 manufacturing operatives will be employed to help meet increasing global demand for Lotus cars, which is set to grow as the manufacturer enters new markets worldwide.

The manufacturer’s recruitment drive follows significant levels of investment in recent years by owners DRB-HICOM, which has allowed the company to increase its focus on engineering, productivity, efficiency and quality.

Mark Pym, Group Head of Human Resources at Lotus, said, “Lotus’ successes have always been built on our talented and dedicated workforce and as we embark on a period of strengthening, it’s crucial that we grow our workforce to support this.

“It’s a positive sign for both the UK car industry and Lotus that we are able to recruit such a high number of experienced specialists and graduates, who will take their first steps on an exciting and rewarding career path.”
