The Honda Challenge

30 June 2014 #Sustainability Case studies

Honda’s dealer apprenticeship programme has trained over 1,100 apprentices in 13 years. During this time, apprentices are employed by their local Honda dealership and attend block training at the Honda Institute, its bespoke training facility, working on products within one of the four divisions. Qualified apprentice graduates achieve City and Guilds Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Level Three. Honda’s apprenticeship programme consistently scores above the national average for completion rates, with latest success rates more than 20% higher than the national average of 83%.

Honda also developed the ‘Honda Challenge’ programme, with the Personal Development Curriculum supplementing technical training. The 14 modules cover many different subjects to help apprentices widen their skills to succeed in their future career and personal life.
