Foresight Vehicle, now administered by SMMT, is the UK's prime knowledge transfer network for the automotive industry.
The Foresight Vehicle programme has generated over 100 individual projects, which have delivered a wide range of advances in manufacturing processes and product concepts. These breakthroughs are destined to shape tomorrow's vehicles as well as influence technological trends in transport systems and road networks of the future.
Low carbon and fuel cell technology KTN
Foresight Vehicle is a partner in the Low Carbon and Fuel Cell Technology Knowledge Transfer Network, working closely with Cenex. Established at the end of December 2005, the LCFC KTN is building a significant presence and delivering services of increasing benefit to the low carbon and fuel cell communities. Foresight Vehicle is primarily responsible for the research phase of the innovation process.

Research opportunities
SMMT Foresight Vehicle operates a series of seminars and workshops on behalf of the KTN, that are intended to advise participants of research opportunities and to stimulate the founding of new consortia and research proposals.

Foresight Vehicle is in the process of building consortia and preparing for potential funding from government and/or European sources with the emphasis on reducing carbon emissions from road vehicles. Technology road map
The Foresight Vehicle Technology Roadmap has been developed to identify technology and research themes for road transport, aiming to support UK industry in the globally competitive market for transport products.
