Bus and Coach Section

The Bus and Coach Section represents those SMMT members who sell buses or coaches in the UK market or who sell ramps or lifts for use in such vehicles.

It recommends SMMT policy on the commercial aspects of the bus and coach market. It works with the Bus and Coach Technical Committee to develop policy on the technical aspects of the sector.

All section members are entitled to be represented at meetings. ‘Permanent contacts’ may be accompanied at meetings by as many specialist advisers as they wish.

The Section’s main activities are:

• lobbying the UK government and other relevant national organisations on matters influencing the market
• Informing and consulting its members on legislative developments
• providing market information

There are usually four meetings a year. Additional meetings are held as required.
