Event Evaluation Committee

SMMT has established the Event Evaluation Committee (EEC) as a service to its members to assist with the evaluation of privately organised events. The Committee reviews approaches from event organisers, providing a means for them to present their plans to member companies and for member companies to discuss and review events collectively.

SMMT will provide a filtering service by means of a standard form to ensure events can be easily and fairly compared.  A steering group of EEC members will consider all applications and compile a list of events that merit further consideration by the full committee.   This process is designed to open communication between event organisers and the industry and will not result in SMMT endorsement of any event(s) or a mandate for members to support individual events.

Membership of EEC is open to event, marketing and/or PR executives from any member company. For full terms of reference, click here.

The EEC meets three times a year in March, September and November. The November meeting will also review the year’s activities and share views on each event.

Meeting dates in 2013 are:

  • Wednesday 27 March
  • Wednesday 25 September
  • Wednesday 20 November
