Manufacturing ETS/CCL Working Group
The Manufacturing ETS/CCL WG was formally established in June 2005 after several years as an informal group.
It’s role is to provide expert advice and guidance on the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EUETS) and the Climate Change Levy (CCL)/Climate Change Agreements (CCA) as they affect emissions from automotive (and parts) manufacturing installations. It also covers the proposed Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC), which affects non-energy intensive organisations.
It conducts these activities under the general direction of the Manufacturing Environment Working Group (MEWG) and, where relevant, the WG on Vehicle Energy (WGVE, who lead on emissions trading related to vehicle emissions).
The Manufacturing ETS/CCL WG reports to the MEWG and is annually reviewed by the overarching Environmental Policy Committee (EPC). Full SMMT members may apply to join the group.
Group correspondence is available to members in the restricted area of the site or as distributed by the Working Group secretary. For further information please e-mail techwgweb@smmt.co.uk
