Some information, advice and opportunities are only available to SMMT
members. This may be crucial to your company's business. It is easy to
become involved in SMMT - here's how to sign up:
As a Member
For those directly, primarily and continuously engaged in all or any of
the activities of the design, concept, manufacture, sale, aftersale, disposal
and recycling of motor vehicles, components and accessories, in the United
Kingdom, for a period of at least 12 months leading up to the time of
the application.
As an Associate
For those individuals, firms and corporate bodies wishing to benefit from
an association with SMMT upon terms granted by the SMMT Executive, and
otherwise being ineligible to be a member of SMMT.
As an Affiliate
For those organisations where there is a mutual benefit of association
formally recognised, upon terms agreed by the SMMT Executive.
The application process
1. Request an application form by telephone, post or e-mail, or view/download
the application form. Send the completed form to the Membership Department
at the SMMT together with the application fee of £250 (212.77 + VAT) which will be deducted from your annual subscription fee. For a guide to Member/Associate/Affiliate subscriptions, please contact us at membership@smmt.co.uk.
2. Applications to join SMMT are reviewed on a monthly basis. Member applications are submitted to the relevant trade section/s for approval on the 1st of each month and then to the Executive for approval on the 15th of each month; Associate and Affiliate applications are submitted to the Executive only.
All applications are subject to the SMMT
Memorandum and Articles of Association.
3. SMMT will notify you immediately of the Executive's decision (on or just after the 25th) and confirmation in writing will follow together with our VAT invoice if applicable.
