InterTyre, the tyre business showcase, will set several precedents when it opens its doors at Birmingham’s NEC on 29 April 2001. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the Show’s organisers, are using their expertise in organising world-class exhibitions1 to ensure that InterTyre is the premier tyre industry exhibition in 2001.
Since announcing the Show last November, SMMT has been working with senior tyre industry representatives, comprising the InterTyre Advisory Group, to refine ideas and services and make the first InterTyre Show a winner. The UK’s newest tyre show will benefit from having its own identity, programme of events and international marketing campaign. It will also have the added bonus of running alongside the well-established and successful Automotive Trade Show, the aftermarket’s leading exhibition since 1975.
More added value for InterTyre exhibitors – and a first for a UK tyre show – comes in the form of Sunday opening. Until InterTyre, independent small businesses didn’t have the option of attending a trade Show on Sunday. David Carson, Marketing Manager at Toyo Tyres and a member of the advisory group said ‘Sunday is often the only free day available for many people working in the service and repair trades. They need an easily accessible venue, which NEC certainly is, free car parking and a free Show Guide. InterTyre delivers on every count.’
Visitors to InterTyre will have the opportunity to not only see what’s new and exciting in the tyre industry, but, in Automotive Trade Show, they’ll have access to the best possible industry ‘shop window’ available. Well over 400 companies look set to exhibit at both Shows, with over 40,000 square metres of stand space covering five halls at the NEC.
Organised by an award-winning2 exhibitions team, and with the support of every major trade association together with experts in the InterTyre Advisory Group, the Show looks set to be a winner.
