Industry standards body Motor Codes has been recognised for its ‘Outstanding Achievement’ at the Motor Trader Awards. The accolade recognises the organisation’s recent achievements having been granted full approval by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) in November last year and the huge boost it has given garages across the country through its motorcodes.co.uk website.
Collecting the award, Motor Codes’ Managing Director, Chris Mason said, “I am thrilled that the hard work of the Motor Codes team has been recognised at such a prestigious level. We are proud to be leading the charge for better standards of customer service for new car sales, service and repair, while driving business to our nationwide network of subscribers.”
More than 6,800 garages subscribe to the OFT-backed Service and Repair Code that has seen web-traffic increase dramatically through motorists’ use of its Garage Finder tool. Motorists are directed to detailed garage profile pages that drive business to subscribed service centres, with an integrated customer survey and garage ranking rewarding those businesses that go above and beyond to be the best.
“With such momentum behind our Codes, solid government support and consumer demand for the peace of mind offered by Motor Codes, the message to garages still standing on the sidelines is ‘stop watching and start doing’,” continued Mason. “We have reached a tipping point now where motorists demand high standards and know where to go to get the service they expect: with Motor Codes, quality garages can flourish.”
Motor Codes achieved OFT backing for its New Car Code in 2004. The Code regulates the sale of new cars, providing added protection to motorists with over 99% of all new cars sales covered by the scheme. The Service and Repair Code has grown rapidly since it was set up in 2008 generating custom for subscribed garages that offer a consistent quality of service to motorists.
