News from the EuroBus Expo: The Masterclass seminar programme, running as an integral part of Euro Bus Expo 2014 on all three days of the show, will once again provide an opportunity for well-informed insight and debate when the industry gathers in November at the leading trade show specifically for the bus and coach industry this year.
There are a total of ten Master Class sessions over the three days of the show, allowing visitors to ‘cherry pick’ the areas which are relevant to their particular interests.
The ‘Tomorrow’s World’ session – entitled ‘An insight into the Future of Bus and Coach Travel’ is likely to be a major draw on the second day of the show. Chaired by respected media commentator Dave Guest, a panel featuring well known and influential industry figures such as Roger French (Transport Writer), Alex Hornby (TrentBarton), Claire Walters (Bus Users), Ian Luckett (Luckett’s Travel), Peter Grazier (People 1st) and Adrian Wickens (Volvo) will discuss the factors and trends which could shape both sectors in future years.
The Young Bus Managers’ Network discussion on ‘Emerging Technologies’, taking place on the third day, promises to be an equally insightful panel session. Ex RouteONE Editor Mike Morgan will be putting the questions to a panel that includes David Barnett, Product Director at Wrightbus, Ken Scott, Group Engineering Director at ADL, and CPT Operations Director Stephen Smith.
As well as panel discussions, the Master Class programme will also feature a Keynote Address on behalf of the IRU President – this will be made by TfL’s MD of Surface Transport Leon Daniels – on the first day of the show. This will be immediately followed (13.15-13.45) by an Opening Address scheduled to be delivered by the Secretary State for Transport.
There are then three individual seminars spread across three days, providing a rich variety of thought-provoking content that is sure to appeal to visitors to this year’s Euro Bus Expo show.
There are also three seminars hosted by Master Class main sponsor, Lytx Inc. Their Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer David Riordan will deliver two of these sessions. The first one on Tuesday covers ‘How to deliver Best Practice Driver Safety Programmes in Passenger Transport, with the second – ‘The Power of Video-Based Data Analytics to Prevent Collisions and Improve Driver Safety’ scheduled for Wednesday. Finally, in what promises to be a fascinating third session, VP of Operations & Analytics Bryan Cook explores ‘Taking the Guesswork out of Driver Safety: How Video Analysis Transforms the Ability to Change Behaviour’.
Show Director Mark Griffin commented, “The Master Class sessions go from strength to strength at every Euro Bus Expo and indeed are a reason alone to visit the show. This is reflected in the quality and diversity in this year’s programme and will appeal not only to the many technically and engineering-orientated visitors to EBE, but also delegates wishing to gain an insight into some of the emerging trends in the broader industry. We are proud that well known industry experts will be adding their experience to the thought provoking sessions.”
Both the Master Class seminars and Environmental Stage presentations are free to attend and delegates simply need to arrive ahead of the allotted start times to secure their seats at each of the respective sessions on a ‘first come, first served basis’
