DAF Trucks has won the Employer Partner of the Year award from City of Bristol College, after a 20-year association with the establishment.
At a recent student awards evening, DAF was recognised for its two-decade long partnership with the college, which has seen more than 1,800 individuals embark on the the DAF Trucks apprentice programme and move on to careers within the truck manufacturer’s organisation or its dealer network.
There are currently 289 heavy vehicle technician apprentices, along with 70 apprentices on non-technical programmes covering parts, sales and customer service.
Adam Russell, business services manager at DAF Trucks, said: “Naturally, we’re thrilled to have been recognised for all our hard work, and that includes the dedication and drive from our apprentices.
“The staff at City of Bristol College and our training provider Skillnet are helping us produce the next generation of DAF technicians and aftersales staff, so their role is absolutely key to the future success of DAF Trucks.”
DAF Trucks has also appeared in the National Apprenticeship Service’s top 100 employers list on five occasions in the last seven years.
