Mercedes-Benz vans has announced a number of enhancements for the popular Vito panel van and passenger vehicle range.
The big news is the addition of the company’s new OM 654 engine range, a selection of high-torque four-cylinder Euro 6 diesel units that are already used in the company’s passenger car range.
The company says that as well as low emissions and optimised fuel economy, the engines are refined and have lower noise and vibration than the outgoing engines.
The Vito will also get many of the digital services offered as part of the Mercedes PRO Connect system, launched last year on the new Sprinter. These will be made available on the Vito from the Summer.
The PRO Connect connectivity and fleet management system helps fleet managers increase efficiency, lower operating costs and improve the availability of vehicles, whilst also facilitating communication between the entire fleet.
Also debuting are driver assistance features such as High Beam Assist, along with a new nine-speed automatic gearbox and optional four-wheel-drive.
