Volvo Bus has officially launched its new 9700 integral coach, which is built on the proven B11R driveline and is part of what the company describes as being the biggest revision of its European coach range in recent history.

The new coach includes many design features and functions found on the 9900, including Public Service Vehicle Accessibility Regulations (PSVAR) capability. The driver’s compartment is described as being ergonomically designed to provide the driver with a comfortable and spacious environment, with the saloon designed to maximise passenger comfort. The 13m, two-axle model will be powered by Volvo’s Euro 6 D11K 11-litre diesel engine.

Volvo coaches have been previously built on Volvo chassis using bodywork from independent body builders, but the 9700 and tri-axle 9900 provide customers with a single-sourced solution. The 9700 can now be viewed alongside a range of Volvo Bus coaches at the Coventry Sales Centre.

Volvo Bus UK and Ireland sales manager, David Porter, said, “We know as the industry is getting back on its feet, operators will be reassured by having the support of a manufacturing partner, who understands more than ever the importance of reliable vehicles and quality aftermarket back-up and support. Volvo Bus, the 9700 and Volvo’s dedicated dealer network delivers this and more.”
