Describe the progress Osprey has made over the past year?
Osprey Charging significantly improved British EV drivers’ re-charge options in 2024 by installing over 300 new rapid and ultra-rapid EV charge points across the country. These new public chargers – all compatible with every EV on the market today – take the total number of charging bays in Osprey’s network to over 1,300.
The majority of the new charge points are located at 27 all-new ultra-rapid charging hubs, which are preferred by drivers for maximising availability and providing dedicated charging space. To meet growing demand at Osprey’s existing locations, 16 older sites were also expanded with new and faster charge points. These upgrades are part of Osprey’s strategy of future-proofing sites.
2024 was a year of huge growth and development for Osprey – we’ve continued to increase access to high-quality public EV charging in strategic locations across Great Britain. With the number of EVs hitting British roads accelerating especially in the last four months of the year, we’ve been at the forefront of the roll-out of supporting infrastructure. The expansion of our network is underpinned by our investment in our hub strategy, while also forging landlord partnerships enabling us to install chargers in premium retail locations. Osprey’s site pipeline was boosted with a number of new landlord partnerships, including new partners Railpen and East of England Co-Op.

What accolades have you received?
The consistency of customer experience throughout the year’s impressive growth led to a series of accolades, recognising the quality and reliability of the Osprey Charging Network. In the Zapmap Driver Satisfaction Survey, Osprey ranked in the Top 3 Large Rapid & Ultra-Rapid Networks for overall driver satisfaction and was named a Driver Recommended Network by Zapmap for the fifth year running. In November, Osprey won three EV and Innovation Awards (EVIEs), including the prestigious Chargepoint Operator of the Year for the second year in a row. This was followed a week later by Osprey winning Best EV Rapid Network at the Transport and Energy Awards.
To receive both industry and consumer recognition of our work, demonstrated in multiple award wins, is massively rewarding. As a team, we are excited to maintain this momentum moving forward into 2025, supporting the continued uptake in EVs with reliable and high-quality public EV charging.
Tell us about the progress Osprey has made with regards to charging infrastructure in Wales?
Last year saw Osprey install public EV chargers in key strategic locations across Great Britain, and as part of this strategy Osprey became the largest rapid charging network in Wales. The Capital Shopping Park hub in Cardiff marked the 100th Osprey charging station to be opened in Wales, with sites and hubs across the country supporting Welsh EV drivers and businesses.
What future plans does Osprey have?
Further strengthening future public EV charging infrastructure, Osprey has acquired two new freehold sites in Paisley, Glasgow and at Twyford Services, both set to host large ultra-rapid hubs of 16+ charge points. The purchase of the freehold sites provides Osprey with greater flexibility over the design of the space, creating a smooth and enjoyable experience for the customer.
