A fixed-term vacancy now exists for an SDI Operations Officer in the SMMT Data Intelligence team.
PURPOSE OF POST:
- To produce scheduled and ad hoc reports and extracts from MVRIS and Motorparc databases. To liaise with members and customers concerning their requirements.
- To assist in the day to day running in all aspects of the MVRIS Operational system.
- To develop expertise in areas of MVRIS, Motorparc and other AIS services and to help develop those services
- To assist the Ops Team with the testing of the new MVRIS system
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED BY JOB HOLDER:
- Good organisation and administration skills.
- Initiative, ability to learn and enthusiasm.
- High level of concentration and accuracy. Numerate and literate.
- Good communication skills especially telephone and email.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software including MS-Word, MS-Excel, and ideally MS-Access.
- Ability to develop good working relationships with customers.
- Aware of the need to maintain the confidentiality of commercially sensitive and personal data.
MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Assist in the day-to-day running of the MVRIS Operational system and Motorparc, including:
- Monitoring levels of disputed registrations and that these are being controlled by MVRIS members (and others who have access)
- Helping resolve “disputes” that are not controlled directly by members (e.g. “Unknown”)
- Helping to set up, review and approve New Model Notifications from members
- Processing paper copies of V55 forms received in the post
- Assist in the production of MVRIS reports, including:
- Completing routine reporting (daily. Monthly, etc.)
- Producing, checking and delivering tailored reports from the MVRIS database
- Liaising with customers – receiving new enquiries, issuing and processing order forms, invoices and renewal letters
- Maintaining up to date files of custom reports and financial records
- Ensuring that scheduled reports and extracts are produced correctly
- Assisting MVRIS members with creation of adhoc reports
- Develop one or more areas of expertise within the MVRIS service e.g. new model checking and coding, disputes, V55 forms, reporting. To take on project work within those areas and to meet / liaise with SMMT staff, members, suppliers and other organisations.
- Provide guidance and advice to customers and SMMT staff on how to use MVRIS products. To assist the Customer Service team in training MVRIS members and to provide specialist knowledge.
- Help produce and maintain up-to-date documentation and procedures for the activities within the individual’s responsibilities.
- Carry out other activities related to the work of the team as required e.g. linking of MVRIS codes to other industry codes.
