Light Vehicle Powertrain WG

The Light Vehicle Powertrain WG handles a wide range of light vehicle engine related issues, such as emissions, OBD, test cycles, fuels (hybrids), fire risks, random roadside testing, congestion charging, low emission zones, replacement catalysts, roadworthiness annual inspection, and fuel vapor recovery.
The LVPWG is responsible for promoting the interests and highlighting the concerns of the UK industry to both national and international bodies with the ability to influence decision-making on matters of relevance to the industry.
Issue-specific projects may be delegated to appropriate ad-hoc working groups at the Committee’s discretion.
The Working Group seeks to support the work of ACEA, OICA, CLEPA and EUROMOT.
The Working Group reports to the Car & Light Commercial Vehicle Technical Committee and is managed by a chairperson and secretary.
A ‘one page’ synopsis of each meeting is sent to all members of the committee, and is published in the monthly PPVL Technical Bulletin which is available to all SMMT members on this site.
Working Group correspondence is available in the restricted area of the site or as distributed by the Working Group secretary. Any full, paid-up SMMT member company can apply to become a member of a Working Group.
