Following publication of the UK government’s Road to Zero strategy in July 2018 and the Committee on Climate Change’s Net Zero report in May 2019 there are several key strands of policy development and engagement that SMMT is pursuing. To help strengthen our policy positions and influencing potential, SMMT need to gather further evidence and feedback from members on key issues related to the uptake of ultra low emission vehicles (ULEVs).
This TF would seek to complement the work of other SMMT committees, focussing on positioning the industry in a positive light and looking towards future technology, exploring and formulating detailed policy positions and specific projects that SMMT may wish to commence.
