Air Quality Zones

In July 2018 the UK government published its plan for tackling nitrogen dioxide concentrations at the roadside. The plan named a total of 81 cities, including within the devolved administrations, that exceeded the annual mean air quality objective limit for nitrogen dioxide NO2).

After further modelling and analysis, 61 cities are now required to take action to reduce NO2 concentrations to meet the objective limit in the shortest time possible.

This interactive map details the confirmed and proposed air quality zones across the UK where emissions based restrictions will apply.

Proposed zones are for indication purposes only. Please click through to the relevant authority for precise details.
