Trade mission

SMMT is pleased to be supporting the Department for Business and Trade who are organising a trade mission to coincide with the 19th edition of the Symposium on International Automotive Technology (SIAT) in Pune, India in January 2026.

SIAT, held every two years, serves as a vital forum for exchange of ideas and collaborative brainstorming among industry experts as well as providing opportunity to worldwide automotive and allied industry to demonstrate their products, technologies and services to OEMs, suppliers and other industry professionals.

The 4-day trade mission will include OEM site visit/s, B2B meetings, networking reception, and exhibition on the UK Pavilion at SIAT expo.

While any company may apply, the DBT team has identified key opportunity areas and will therefore prioritise UK companies whose experience or technologies fall into the following categories:

• ADAS/ Vehicle Autonomy
• Hydrogen (Storage, Fuel cell, H2 ICE)
• Motor Technology (40KW+ for M & H CV’s)
• Power Electronics
• Battery Tech (New Cell chemistry/ Innovative Tech)
• Light weighting (Composites+ New Mat Tech, Eg: Graphene applications)
• Automotive Software/ Digital Twins/ Cyber Security
• Auto Consulting/ Testing/ Vehicle Engineering

Please note that DBT are intending to charge £250 – £500 per company for this mission. Hotel (at a DBT secured discounted rate), visa and flight costs are not covered or included within this fee.
