SMMT Brexit Webinar with UK Government: Customs and the border in a no deal scenario – Member only
28 February 2019
Goods moving between the UK and EU27 are currently deemed “intra-EU movements” resulting in very little, if any, documentation needing to be supplied to government authorities on either side. Customs procedures may be introduced requiring businesses to send information and data on their goods to UK and EU27 border agencies – in a similar way that has to be done today for goods entering and leaving the UK from countries outside of the EU. There may be additional checks/inspections on the goods you are moving across the border. This may require new or extra capabilities within your IT systems, especially for those businesses that currently only trade within the EU.
This webinar is being hosted jointly between the SMMT and UK government. It is an opportunity for businesses to gain the latest insight on political developments from SMMT before the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, HM Revenue and Customs and the Border Delivery Group give detail on how they are preparing the UK border and customs for a no-deal scenario along with advising businesses on what steps they must take to prepare for this scenario.
