The Communications Department is responsible for the external communication activities of the Society and, in conjunction with members and staff, develops and implements strategies for communicating with the industry’s key stakeholders on relevant issues. This can involve media comment on issues affecting the SMMT and its members, communication programmes for exhibitions and events such as the Commercial Vehicle Show, the International Automotive Summit, SMMT Test Day and the SMMT Annual Dinner, amongst other activities.
The Communications Department is also responsible for the strategy, design and implementation of the Society’s digital platform which delivers value to members through improved access to information and ease of dialogue. As the eyes, ears and mouthpiece of the SMMT, the Communications Department provides a full support service to members and staff on communications issues on a daily basis.
