Auto recycling company IAA has added 21 new DAF truck to its fleet, transitioning from 12-tonne to 16-tonnes vehicles to increase payload capacity.
The company based in Doncaster has added 6×2 XD and 4×2 XB trucks to its fleet. Supplied by DAF Dealer North West Trucks in Huyton, the new fleet comprises the XD 410 rigid 26-tonners with DAF’s ‘FAR’ 6×2 rear-lifting axle configuration and seven-car transporter bodies. The XBs can carry two cars on top and a third towed behind the truck. The move to 16-tonne GVW provides the operational flexibility to optimise loads while maintaining speed and efficiency.
Mike Griffiths, Head of Transport for the UK, said: “DAF continues to deliver on every front for our business. Reliability and ongoing service are key, and our relationship with North West Trucks at dealer level is second to none. With 85% of our 100-strong fleet now DAF, we know we can rely on the product and the people behind it.
“Feedback from drivers on the new XBs has been excellent. The safety features are a real highlight, and the vehicles are praised for their driveability and comfort.”
The company specialises in processing end-of-life cars working with insurers, fleet companies, and government organisations with vehicle disposal.
