SMMT is considering taking a delegation of UK companies to Automotive Meetings Bursa, held in Bursa, Türkiye, from 11 – 12 November 2026.
Automotive Meetings Bursa is the only automotive supply chain event in Türkiye for automotive and aftermarket industry. It connects buyers and suppliers through tailored B2B meetings, fostering innovation, building partnerships, and unlocking new business opportunities in a focused, results-driven environment.
The event would be designed for automotive companies who already operate in, or are interested in doing business with Türkiye and the wider Eastern Europe and Central Asia region.
About the Turkish automotive sector
Türkiye has a strong automotive manufacturing industry including OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), manufacturing a wide variety of vehicles including passenger cars, trucks, pick ups, buses, minibuses and tractors. Over 1.3 million vehicles were manufacturers in 2024, with nearly 1 million of these vehicles exported making automotive the leading sector for the country’s exports.
As of 2024, the country’s combined automotive production is ranked 4th in Europe and 12th globally. In terms of commercial vehicle production, Türkiye is ranked the 1st in Europe and 9th globally.
There is also a strong supply chain presence in Turkiye, with over 1,100 component manufactures supporting the automotive sector in Türkiye.
The number of vehicles on Türkiye’s roads also continues to grow, with over 23.5 million vehicles being driven in 2023, an increase of over 55% in 10 years,
Aligning with global trends, Türkiye’s automotive sector is shifting towards cleaner solutions, with growing production of electric vehicles and a focus on innovative technologies like connected and autonomous driving, as well as hydrogen solutions for commercial vehicles.
