DAF Trucks dealers Motus and Ford & Slater have opened their depot charging facilities to third-party HGV fleets through the Paua Share initiative.
The dealer groups will add 16 new truck charging locations to the Paua truck and shared depot ecosystem, providing fleets running electric rigid and articulated trucks from any manufacturer with practical, reliable charging options.
Motus has partnered with Envevo to install the charge points, while Ford & Slater has worked with EO to install its chargers.
In addition, Paua has integrated both dealer groups into its platform, enabling fleets to access depot infrastructure using its EV charging payment and depot sharing capability.
Motus Commercials mainly covers Scotland, the Midlands, and has key sites in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Carlisle, Derby, Nottingham, Manchester, Birmingham and Hull.
Meanwhile, Ford & Slater has 16 locations in the UK, including depots in Leicester, Peterborough, Norwich, Wisbech, King’s Lynn, Lincoln, Chesterfield, Sheffield, Leeds, Corby, Coventry, Newark, Birtley, and Stockton.
Also, the two dealer groups have supplied 20% of the electric trucks currently in the UK’s Zero Emission HGV and Infrastructure Demonstrator (ZEHID) programme.
John Jesson, EV and connected services manager at Motus Commercial, said: “As more businesses transition to electric trucks, enabling shared access to depot charging will help fleets operate with greater confidence and flexibility.”
Josh Spencer, EV sales manager at Ford & Slater, said: “As a leading Daf Trucks dealer, we are proud to be supporting the growth of electric truck adoption in the UK, including through our contribution to the ZEHID programme.”
