Connecting UK industry at home and overseas
Ruta Aisthorpe, Director of Global Operations and Partnerships, shares about international activities for the April edition of the SMMT International Update.
It was great to see such strong engagement at last month’s SMMT Electrified event, bringing together industry and government to reflect on progress towards decarbonising road transport.
A key theme throughout was the importance of collaboration – not only across the UK, but increasingly with international partners. Sharing insight, aligning approaches and working together across borders will be critical to unlocking practical solutions and ensuring the transition happens at pace.
This is where SMMT’s international activity plays an important role. Following a successful Future Mobility Week, we are continuing to strengthen engagement with global partners and create opportunities for UK businesses to connect, collaborate and grow.
There are still a few remaining opportunities to join us at Automechanika Frankfurt, and we’ll shortly be launching details of our Southeastern US trade mission to Georgia and South Carolina.
Alongside our wider programme, these activities are designed to support deeper collaboration with key international markets and help UK companies position themselves within global supply chains. For more information click here.
And finally, as Frances Woodman leaves us for maternity leave, we are pleased to announce that Hanan Gendi joins the International team and will be leading on Automechanika Frankfurt and the CEE Automotive Supply Chain projects.
