Over the past few months there has been much activity in the commercial vehicle dealership sector, with a series of new dealer points built and announcements about fresh facilities in the pipeline.
For example, family-owned Ciceley Commercials has announced plans for a new Mercedes-Benz Truck and Bus dealership at Eurocentral in Lanarkshire, Scotland.
Work on the new £8 million Mercedes-Benz Truck and Bus facility has just begun and a temporary workshop is expected to open mid-2026 to provide essential servicing and maintenance during construction of the main building.
The full dealership is scheduled to open in autumn 2026, with the project expected to create about 40 new jobs.
Situated on a 4.75-acre plot, the dealership will include 12 work bays, an Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) lane as well as full service, parts, and sales facilities forMercedes-Benz trucks
There will also be service and parts facilities forMercedes-Benz buses.
Andy Heys, Dealer Principal at Ciceley Commercials said: “Working closely with Mercedes-Benz, we’ve secured the ideal location and designed a facility that truly reflects the needs of Scottish truck operators.
“This marks an exciting new chapter for Ciceley, but while we grow, we remain true to our roots and proud of our family business culture.
“As a family-run business, we see this new dealership as more than just a facility – it’s an opportunity to serve new communities while continuing to deliver the quality and care our current customers value.”
Also, MAN Truck & Bus has announced plans for a new wholly-owned dealership in Peterseat Park, Aberdeen.

The multimillion-pound investment begins phased operations this month, with full construction scheduled for completion by late 2026.
Sitting on a brownfield site, measuring in excess of 3.0 acres, the new facility will house five designated truck service and repair lanes, three van service ramps and, once fully operational, a specialist Pet Reg bay.
The building’s offices will offer a modern service reception, customer meeting points, a separate parts area, dedicated sales offices for both new and TopUsed MAN vehicles and hot desks for field-based staff.
To prepare for the transition to eMobility, the new Aberdeen facility will, once fully operational, also include a dedicated electric vehicle service and repair bay along with the necessary tools for electric vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.
This new facility will provide customers in Aberdeen and nearby areas with its full range of vehicles, from TGE at 3.5 tonnes to TGX heavy-haulage tractors at 250 tonnes.
Jan Kohlmeier, Managing Director, MAN Truck & Bus UK said: “In building this dedicated facility, we’re improving our service offerings, increasing our capacity and providing focused expertise.
“This new facility will ensure our customers’ vehicles are maintained to the highest standards and, in doing so, strengthen our long-term commitment across the region.
“Strategically located on the busy Altens Industrial Estate and near the main A90, means we can quickly and confidently service the needs of customers in the surrounding area and at the same time be easily accessible to anyone passing by who may need assistance.”
Meanwhile, Sparks Commercial Services (SCS), part of the Renault Trucks dealer network, has opened its new head office, van centre and electric vehicle education centre in Southampton.
Strategically located on Redbridge Causeway at the end of the M271, the multi-million-pound facility will serve as the family-run company’s new HQ and central hub for new and used light commercial vehicle and truck sales.
With its dedicated LCV workshop, the new facility supports the existing Sparks Commercial HGV workshop located less than a mile away.
At its heart is the new EV Education Centre, featuring interactive displays, expert-led workshops and tailored advice, all created to help operators, businesses and drivers on their decarbonisation journey.
The site also offers the full range of Renault Trucks commercial vehicles from 2.8 to 44 tonnes, an MOT lane for Classes 4, 5 and 7, computerised brake roller testing, diagnostic facilities for all makes, dedicated parts supply, and Renault Trucks-trained technicians supported by 24/7 roadside assistance.

The new centre marks Sparks’ entry into the B2C retail market and forms part of a broader strategy to explore the expansion of more dedicated van centres.
Julie Spark, Director and Co-founder of SCS, said: “Our new van centre is a huge step forward for Sparks Commercials.
“It not only gives us a modern, purpose-built home, but also enables us to play a leading role in supporting our customers as they transition to more sustainable transport.
“The EV Education Centre is central to that vision – giving van operators the tools, knowledge and confidence they need to make informed choices about electric vehicles.”
Crossroads Truck & Bus has opened a new purpose-built energy-efficient depot in Lysaghts Way, Scunthorpe, in a prime location just off the M181.
The Volvo truck and bus dealer for the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region, which also operates depots at Birstall, Boroughbridge, Lincoln, Normanton, Hull, Rotherham, and Stallingborough, said the new facility will secure a sustainable environment for future generations.
Scoring an A-rating for energy performance, the building incorporates solar power generation, electric vehicle charging, female and male washrooms, four double bays, a certified tachograph centre and recently approved ATF lane.
Crossroads has operated a depot in Scunthorpe since 1999, firstly located on Midland Road, before moving to Grange Lane North in 2002.
Christian Coolsaet, Managing Director, Volvo Trucks UK & Ireland said: “The dealership’s proximity to the Port of Immingham – the largest in the UK by tonnage – makes this a strategically key area for freight traffic and means a significant number of Volvo customers will benefit from this new facility.
“Crossroads has done a terrific job in bringing the project to life – it’s the perfect example of what a modern truck dealership needs to be and will ensure the site continues to attract and retain the very best talent.”
It is heartening to see commercial vehicle dealer groups continuing to invest in top quality facilities, and provide customers with an experience and a level of service that matches the reputations of the brands they represent.
