News from Renault: Agricultural bulk haulage specialist, Craven Transport from Boston, has taken delivery of five Renault Range T460 6×2 TML E6 tractor units.

The new Range Ts will replace older vehicles in Craven Transport’s 23-strong mixed Renault, Scania and Mercedes-Benz fleet. The support and customer service from Thompson Commercials and previously favourable experiences with Renault Premiums were key factors in Craven Transport’s vehicle selection.

The Range Ts, which went on the road in March and May, are being used mainly for agricultural tipper work across the UK but especially in the East Midlands and Eastern Counties.

Commenting on the decision to bring the company’s first Renault Range Ts onto its fleet, Craven Transport’s Managing Director, Andrew Craven said, “The relationship that we have with Thompson Commercials, including the repair and maintenance contract, was key to our decision to bring the new Renaults on board. The vehicles have only been on the road for a couple of months but I’m really happy. The early fuel figures are very promising; we are getting at least a 0.25mpg more than any of our other vehicles which is of course great news for our business.”

Craven added, “Our drivers are also extremely happy with the new Range Ts and they really like driving them. They particularly like the driving characteristics and the comfort of the cab. All in all the new Renault Trucks are great news for the productivity of the Craven Transport fleet.”

Richard Laws-Chapman, Thompson Commercials Boston, said, “Craven Transport and I have an established working relationship and its fantastic news that we are delivering great vehicles and service for them. I am particularly delighted to hear that the Range Ts are delivering in terms of fuel savings and that the drivers are noticing the difference too.  With a bigger cab, increased storage, spacious rest area and carefully considered interiors, Renault Trucks has invested significantly in making the driver’s life easier and more comfortable.”

Craven Transport is based in Boston, Lincolnshire and was set up in 1993 by Andrew Craven with one lorry which he used to move grain from the Company’s farm to local mills. The company has now grown to 23 vehicles and has expanded its work from hauling grain and sugar beet to sand, stone and non-hazardous fertilizers.
