News from Nu-Track: Nu-Track has launched a new vehicle – the Nu-Vibe – to meet the increasingly complex and demanding requirements of the community travel sector.

The Nu-Vibe was officially unveiled in the presence of Danny Kennedy MLA, Minister for Regional Development in the Northern Ireland Assembly, at the Euro Bus Expo Show.

The Nu-Vibe has been designed to breathe new life into community and educational transport, offering practical, safe and inclusive transportation for a variety of niche applications in a modern vehicle format.

With an established pedigree in the market, coupled with access to the design, manufacturing and technological capabilities of the Wrights Group with which it has affiliation, Nu-Track have developed the Nu-Vibe to provide a modern and safe vehicle, for the specific requirements of today’s local authority, education, welfare and social transport operators.

The Nu-Vibe is a very compact vehicle, just 9050mm in length, 2278mm wide and with an overall height of 2700mm, which makes it ideal for use on even the narrowest of roads or in built up areas. Although it is small, it is very safe and secure, in full compliance with the National Small Series Type Approval Regulations, M3 Tested Type Approved, as well as complying with R66 Rollover Approvals.

With low floor entry through a wide entrance door, suitable for wheelchair access, the new vehicle can be configured in a number of seating layouts, with up to 33 seated passengers and up to four wheelchair spaces. There are 17 fixed seats on the high level at the rear of the vehicle, with 16 either fixed or detachable seats on the lower entry level. Passengers on board the Nu-Vibe also benefit from fully bonded glass and an advanced heating and ventilation system throughout.

The driver is well catered for too in the Nu-Vibe, with a specially designed ergonomic Drivers Area with excellent all round visibility and a push button operated automatic gearbox.

The Nu-Vibe is powered by a Cummins ISB4.5 Euro-6 engine with an Allison S2100 fully automated transmission. It features Daimler axles front and rear, with full front air suspension and kneeling facility, as well as full air four spring rear suspension. It also benefits from a chassis developed by En-Drive, part of the Wrights Group, which incorporates a 24V multiplex electrical system and an aluminium fuel tank.

The Nu-Vibe has modern exterior styling with a three piece front and rear GRP Bumpers, complementing an aluminium body structure with quick release panels for ease of repair and serviceability.

Rob Shiels, Business Improvement Manager at Nu-Track said, “I am delighted that Danny Kennedy has been able to join us today at the launch of an exciting new addition to our product range. The Nu-Vibe will, quite literally, breathe ‘nu-life’ into the accessible community transport sector, setting a new benchmark for safety, accessibility and inclusivity in a modern and very attractive vehicle format.”
