NHS Highland Estates has added seven new Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to boost a fleet responsible for covering 10,000 square miles of Scotland’s challenging mountain terrain.
The new contract comprises all-wheel drive models in a mix of Caddy, Transporter and Amarok vans.
NHS Highland Estates already has a number of Volkswagens in its fleet, so the additions join the current crop that includes Caddy C20, Caddy C20 Maxi, Caddy C20 Kombi and Transporters.
Among the new models added to the NHS Highland Estates fleet are an Amarok pick-up and a Transporter 4MOTION. Both models feature four-wheel drive, and have been engineered for the kind of terrain that NHS Highland Estates’ drivers experience on a daily basis.
The healthcare service has also opted for BlueMotion Technology throughout the fleet where possible, to increase fuel-efficiency and keep CO2 emissions low.
Volkswagen’s aftersales support will also help NHS teams on the road 24/7. Volkswagen’s Service Promise means NHS Highland Estates will be guaranteed a like-for-like replacement should the need occur.
Bain Magnus, Maintenance Manager for NHS Highland Estates, said, “The work of NHS Highland Estates is vital to servicing healthcare facilities throughout some of the remotest areas of Scotland. When looking to source new vehicles for our fleet, reliability and efficiency were of great importance, and taking into account value for money, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles emerged as the number one choice.”
