Optare electric buses

Optare has fully electric buses designed and built in Leeds. The Solo model has a 100 mile range and can be recharged in as little as two hours, although it would typically be charged overnight. The bus has been introduced in London, Manchester, Nottingham and other cities. Operators are finding that the EV offers significantly lower running and maintenance costs, which are expected to more than offset the initial higher purchase price compared with a conventional diesel
