- UK engine production grows 6.3% in June with output reaching 242,011 units.
- Year-to-date performance up 7.5% with 1.36 million units produced.
- Home market drives demand in first six months, rising 32.7% to offset a -6.3% decline in exports.
It’s good to see such a strong first half to 2016 for engine production in the UK, with the significant investment committed in recent years by manufacturers reflected in the sector’s growth. Demand for British-built engines is booming but, with export markets still accounting for more than half of production, it is vital that the right trading conditions are maintained so industry remains internationally competitive and continues to thrive.
