Truck manufacturer MAN has doubled the length of the warranty offered on its genuine parts and repairs, from 12 months to 24 months.

The extended two-year warranty applies to all repairs carried out in MAN service centres from 2017 onwards and includes any MAN Genuine Parts, MAN Genuine Parts ecoline and MAN Genuine Accessories installed as part of the repair work. In addition, the two-year warranty covers any service work connected with fitting the spare parts.

The company’s service network typically carries around 8,000 genuine parts available to hand in MAN service centres, including for older models and speciality vehicles, to keep downtime as short as possible in the event of damage that renders a vehicle off road. In addition, it claims 95% of all speciality parts, which are not immediately available, are delivered to the any European workshop overnight via its European Logistics Centre in Salzgitter, Germany.

As well as new parts, the warranty covers remanufactured components available through its ‘ecoline’ range, where the parts are refurbished by either MAN itself or an approved external supplier. The company claims this option allows for older models to be maintained at a reasonable market value, keeping costs down for operators.
