SMMT is delighted to announce that the Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, Rt Hon Greg Clark MP, will be attending the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) 101st Annual Dinner and giving a keynote speech at the event on 28 November 2017.
The SMMT Annual Dinner is one of the most high profile events in the automotive calendar, attended by senior executives from across the automotive sector, government officials, media and other stakeholders. The Business Secretary will address more than 1,000 guests at the special event at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
SMMT President Tony Walker, Deputy Managing Director of Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK and Managing Director of Toyota Motor Europe London Office, will also speak and is expected to celebrate the industry’s recent achievements and outline the key opportunities and challenges facing the sector.
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders is one of the largest and most influential trade associations in the UK and represents around 800 companies across the entire automotive sector.
Later in the evening the comedian and actor Bill Bailey will be the after dinner speaker, along with a surprise celebrity guest to be revealed on the night.

Meanwhile, the winner of the Autocar-Courland Next Generation Award will also be announced at the event. Launched in 2009, the award challenges young people aged between 17-25 to create a problem-solving idea, or innovation, offering them the chance to kick-start a career in automotive.
