Ford has boosted its commercial vehicle offering with an all-new Fiesta Sport Van, which made its debut on the first day of the CV Show.
Based on the popular Fiesta passenger car, the Fiesta Sport Van offers a 1.0 cubic metre load bay with a load length of close to 1.2 metres, and can accommodate almost 500kg of payload. Equipped with a composite and mesh full bulkhead, the load bay also offers tough sidewall trim and a durable rubber floor coating with four tie-down points.
The Sport Van also benefits from the latest technology fitted to the Fiesta passenger car, with Ford’s SYNC 3 communication and entertainment system that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-inch colour touchscreen and the ability to sync with dedicated smartphone apps through the AppLink system. On the safety side the Fiesta Sport Van can be specified with features such as Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Cross Traffic Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control. Engine options for the Fiesta Sport van are a 1.0-litre 125PS Ecoboost petrol or 1.5-litre TDCI 120PS diesel.
The Fiesta Sport Van is also one of the latest generation of Ford commercial vehicles that can be specified with the new FordPass Connect. This system turns the vehicle into a mobile wifi hotspot, allowing up to 10 devices to connect to it and also integrating with the FordPass mobile app to provide additional features to improve ease of use and efficiency. Vehicle Health Alerts can advise when service items require attention, Vehicle Status can provide information on fuel levels, alarm status and tyre pressures and Vehicle Locator can help drivers find their vehicle in car parks or busy work locations.
“With the all-new Fiesta Sport Van joining three new Transit models, the Ford stand in Birmingham is packed with new metal,” said Hans Schep, Ford European General Commercial Vehicle Manager. “Add in innovative connectivity and mobility solutions, and you can see how determined we are to support our customers – both now and in the future.”
