The shortlist for the 2020 Motor Transport Fleet Truck of the Year has been revealed, with the line-up comprising the DAF XF, Mercedes-Benz Actros, Scania R-series and the Volvo FH.
The shortlist was chosen by a panel of fleet operators based on online presentations by all the major manufacturers of 6×2 tractor units.
The Fleet Truck of the Year award showcases the best truck that features a 6×2 tractor unit with 400hp to 500hp. It can use any type of fuel but must be a model that is currently available for UK operators to purchase.
A number of factors were considered for the final shortlist including: fuel economy, refuelling infrastructure (for non-diesel drivetrains), driver satisfaction, safety, environmental impact, specification options, dealer support, breakdown cover, weight, finance options and total cost of ownership.
