DAF Trucks offers price freeze pledge

DAF Trucks has offered a price freeze on all new UK orders for its LF, CF and XF vehicles built by the end of February 2021, regardless of the impact of any potential Brexit deal. The pledge comes ahead of uncertainty over the exchange rate and tariffs.

The UK company has also taken steps to safeguard its supply chain. It has bolstered the inventory at its UK Parts Distribution Centre, at Leyland Trucks, while adding two weeks’ supplementary stock across its 130-location DAF Dealer network. This has been done to help mitigate risk of potential cross-border delays. Similar steps have been taken at its Eindhoven parts centre.

DAF Trucks truck sales director, Russell Patmore, said, “We hope our price assurance will deliver a level of certainty during a period of uncertainty. The potential consequences of tariffs have contributed to a strong order intake and production slots for this year are now filled. Despite the fact that truck prices are expected to increase in the UK in general, we’re prepared to commit to firm competitive pricing. We want to support operators.”
