In line with the progress of the SMMT Data Intelligence project called Stepstone (new data platform) a new vacancy exists for a Change Manager on a fixed term contract until November 2024. This role will help to ensure the successful cutover from the current MVRIS system to the new data platform.

PURPOSE OF POST:

  • To be responsible for the preparation and migration of all users of the current MVRIS platform onto a new SDI run Data Platform (Project Stepstone) to occur in October/November 2024.
  • To interface with a variety of internal stakeholders (SMMT and SDI team) and external stakeholders (OEMs, Bulk Data customers and DVLA), to support the change management of the Data Platform transformation initiatives.
  • To be responsible for establishing and setting the necessary scope and elements of the role

MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Interface with a variety of internal stakeholders (SMMT and SDI team) and external stakeholders (OEMs, Bulk Data customers and DVLA), to support the change management of the Data Platform transformation initiatives. Ensuring teams understand how the transformation will benefit them and enable stakeholders to:
    • successfully transition in a timely basis to the new Data Platform; and
    • accelerate and maximise the value they can drive from the new Data Platform.
  • Be responsible for estanblishing and setting the necessary scope and elements of the role, but it is envisaged that this would include the following:

Change strategy: Designing the change programme for Data Platform, including specific initiatives in areas such as:

External Customers

  • OEMs: individual transition plans for all existing services; leverage new technology
  • Bulk/Type 1 customers: transfer all existing services
  • Measure progress and readiness against metrics

Internal

  • Manage processes in place for the operation of the new Data Platform by SDI
  • Including Support processes
  • Identify gaps and propose solutions
  • Measure progress and readiness against metrics

Communications Strategy

  • Plan, draft, schedule for all stakeholders
  • Point of contact (internal and external)
  • Filter and issue escalation (with stakeholders and with SDI as appropriate)

Training Programme Strategy

  • Plan and deploy and utilise SDI resources (for all internal & external stakeholders)
  • Measure progress and readiness against metrics
  • Coaching internal resource to become the in-house Change Manager

Enablement: Stakeholder analysis; change impact assessment; change measurement and analytics; communications and stakeholder management; training and performance support; focusing on knowledge transfer to the organisation to sustain BAU

Change Tracking: Focus upon the use of data points and analytics; reporting and KPIs to demonstrate benefits realisation associated with Change Management, and calling to action, where needed.
