BCA: Used LCV values up 5.5% year-on-year in July

14 Aug 2025

Vehicle remarketing business BCA has reported strong trading for used LCVs in July, helped by exceptional buyer demand.

LCV values at the vehicle auction specialist averaged £7,817 in July 2025, down by £371 month-on-month compared to June, but ahead of July 2024 values by £407 – 5.5% – a theme that continues from previous months.

Performance against guide price expectations rose by nearly two percentage points to 105.6% in July, as sold LCV volumes also rose to the highest point recorded since March this year, with more than 9,500 units sold.

Nearly 2,700 different buyers purchased stock during the month as bidding remained extremely competitive throughout most value points.

Across the year so far, used LCV values at BCA have averaged just under £8,000, equivalent to 103.3% of price guide expectations, with more than 7,300 different buyers purchasing an LCV from the business.

BCA said additional functionality has also been launched, to drive more LCV stock onto its Bid Now/Buy Now platforms, making it easier for customers to source stock at any time of day or night, wherever they are.

Stuart Pearson, BCA COO UK said sales have been performing exceptionally well, with high levels of interest, and very competitive bidding driving strong conversion rates.

He added: “In spite of the well documented challenges with new LCV registrations, BCA saw a further uplift in LCVs being offered through our online sales program in July.

“Whilst rising volumes and the onset of the summer holiday season could have seriously impacted average values, the current marketplace simply remains very hungry for stock.”
