One month to go to the most important of shows

19 Mar 2026

With just one month to go until the Commercial Vehicle Show and the inaugural Bus & Coach Expo open their doors at the NEC, the UK road transport industry is approaching a critical moment for reflection, and decision‑making.

These two co‑located events, running 21-23 April, arrive at a time when the direction of travel is no longer in doubt. Across vans, trucks, buses and coaches, decarbonisation, digitalisation and compliance are now unavoidable. What remains unresolved is how operators deliver that transition at pace, and at scale, while managing cost pressures, infrastructure constraints and workforce challenges.

For freight and logistics, the CV Show underscores how quickly zero‑emission and low‑emission technologies have already moved from concept to catalogue. Yet the most important conversations are shifting beyond vehicle launches to the fundamentals: charging and refuelling infrastructure, grid capacity, residual values and how regulation translates into day‑to‑day fleet decisions.

The Bus & Coach Expo brings a timely focus on passenger transport, where ambition is high but delivery remains complex. Funding certainty, depot readiness and skills shortages continue to shape what operators can realistically deploy, even as political expectations rise.

What unites both shows is a recognition that this is now a delivery decade. The technology exists. Policy frameworks are coming together. The challenge is turning targets into timetables and pilots into operational fleets.

With one month to go, make sure you’re part of the conversation – register for free, and I look forward to seeing there
