Navigating global opportunities in a changing trade environment
Simon Winterbottom, International Manager, shares about international activities for the July edition of the SMMT International Update.
It was a pleasure to see many familiar faces at the 18th SMMT International Automotive Summit last week, with global trade very much a central topic of discussion – particularly the international climate in which we’re operating amid increased competition, rising protectionism and supply chain disruption.
Closer partnership is crucial and China is the next market where SMMT is arranging activity, partnering with the Department for Business and Trade on a visit this July. It will include a visit to the New Energy Vehicle Forum in Shanghai and site visits to OEMs in Chongqing.
We’re also encouraging companies keen to engage with the Turkish automotive sector to join SMMT’s delegation to Automotive Meetings Bursa this November, connecting buyers and suppliers through tailored B2B meetings.
