BCA opens Doncaster EV battery repair centre

Vehicle auction specialist BCA has opened a new facility at its Doncaster site that offers battery repairs for EVs and hybrids entering the remarketing process, when the manufacturer warranty has expired or become invalidated.

The facility – managed by BCA Fleet Solutions – offers services across all makes and models include diagnosis, insulation testing, module repair and replacement, casing repairs, as well as drive motor replacements.

Other services available are cellular balancing, DC charger and inverter repairs, green parts supply where available and high voltage component replacement.

Repairs are carried out to OEM standards and provide a comprehensive and cost-effective solution for BCA’s customers, ensuing EVs and hybrids can be assessed, repaired and then offered for sale promptly and in the best possible condition.

BCA has consistently enhanced its service offering to meet the growing needs of the sector, launching its EV battery report service late in 2024 in partnership with Aviloo.

Batteries on sale cars are graded from A to E, resulting in significantly higher sale conversion rates, improved average values and a shorter time to sale for both passenger cars and electric LCVs.

Also, BCA’s specialist EV/Hybrid Assured Report includes testing the charging capability of the vehicles, the state of the charge port and availability of charge cables, ensuring trade buyers have the detail they need to make an informed purchasing decision.
