Citroën has unveiled the Fourgonette Concept – an electric light commercial vehicle that reinterprets its classic 2CV van – at the 2026 Paris Motor Show.
The design study appeared alongside the passenger-car 2CV Concept, with Citroën describing it as the light commercial version of that car.
Citroën states that the concept “does not preview a future production model in the short term.”
The original 2CV Fourgonnette served generations of tradespeople, shopkeepers and delivery drivers, and the new concept aims to carry that role into an EV the company describes as accessible, practical and ingenious, with an instantly recognisable design.
Citroën says the concept also reaffirms its relationship with professional customers, which it dates back more than a century, and its aim of offering vehicles designed to make working life easier for those who run businesses and travel daily.
The company also describes the 2 CV Fourgonnette as staying faithful to the original while focusing on future uses and challenges.
Xavier Chardon, CEO of Citroën and DS Automobiles, said the design study was created by Citroën’s designers to reinterpret the spirit of the 2 CV Fourgonnette for today’s needs in an “endearing vehicle brimming with character”.
He added: “The 2 CV Fourgonnette was more than just a workhorse.
“It was part of everyday life. Simple, ingenious and accessible, it above all possessed something few commercial vehicles have: a soul.
“That is the spirit we are bringing back to life today, because being useful should never mean being ordinary.”
