Tell us about Modul-System’s durable racking designs?
Manufactured from ultra-high-strength steel, Modul-System’s durable racking designs are engineered to maximise storage capacity without adding excess weight, a critical advantage as operators look to protect payload, control running costs and respond to tighter EV and driving licence-related weight thresholds. By keeping conversion weight down, the system supports increased load capacity, lower CO₂ emissions and reduced fuel costs in diesel vehicles, and extended range in electric and hybrid commercial vehicles.
Our no-drilling installation method eliminates the risk of corrosion and protects the vehicle’s residual value, backed by a three-year warranty on installation and the technical confidence of close to 50 years of industry experience. The modular nature of the system means installations can evolve with operational needs, supporting fleets through vehicle changeovers, role changes and business growth without starting from scratch each time
Describe your role in producing the UK’s first professionally converted BYD E-Vali long wheelbase high roof electric van?
The first converted BYD E-Vali incorporates two distinct working environments within a single vehicle to showcase the versatility of the platform.
On the nearside, we have installed our dedicated parcel delivery shelving, providing an organised, high-capacity storage solution for courier, logistics and last-mile delivery operators, allowing drivers to access parcels quickly and efficiently throughout the working day.
Meanwhile, the offside incorporates our renowned lightweight aluminium racking system, designed for engineers, utility companies, telecommunications providers, highways contractors and mobile service fleets, creating a practical and highly organised mobile workshop.
We are incredibly proud to be the first vehicle conversion specialist in the UK to fit out the new BYD E-Vali. Whenever a new commercial vehicle enters the market, fleet operators want to see what’s possible beyond the manufacturer’s brochure. They want to understand how the vehicle performs as a real working environment.
That’s exactly what we’ve created. By combining our dedicated parcel delivery shelving on one side with our proven engineering racking system on the other, we’ve demonstrated just how versatile the E-Vali can be for different fleet applications.
Finally, what other features does the converted BYD E-Vali come with?
The vehicle has also been equipped with Modul-Floor, our lightweight flooring system, together with lightweight protective wall linings, helping operators maximise payload while creating a durable and professional working environment.
Based on the Long Wheelbase High Roof BYD E-Vali, the vehicle offers an impressive load space of approximately 4.2 metres with an internal roof height of around 2 metres, making it ideally suited to a wide variety of commercial fleet applications.
The new demonstrator illustrates how a single electric platform can be configured to meet the demands of multiple industries without compromising payload or operational capability.
