Health and safety continues to be a priority for the industry and, over the longer-term, there has been a significant
-87.6% reduction in the rate of lost time incidents per employee since 2002. All manufacturers continue to strive
for zero lost time incidents, and will share concern that there has been a recent increase in the rate of these incidents in 2022, albeit from a low baseline. It is possible that some of this increase is related to Covid-19 and supply chain disruption, alongside the knock-on interruptions to normal processes and work patterns.
